Visiting the Tatacoa Desert in Colombia is a truly magical and unique experience. This stunning arid landscape, with its red and gray rock formations, seems otherworldly. Arrival in the early morning at our Hotel in Rivera, rest and around 9:30 am we head to Ecoparque Mano del gigante, (includes admission), there you can enjoy the majesty of the mountain and the panoramic view from this great viewpoint, among other locations. At approximately 2:00 pm we head to the Termales de Rivera, enjoy the afternoon, arrival at the hotel at about 8:00 PM. Dinner and rest.
Breakfast and departure to the Tatacoa Desert, first doing a panoramic tour of the city of Neiva and visiting Villavieja, this municipality is historically the first capital of the department of Huila and one of the oldest municipalities in the center of the country; Optional entry to La planta Tatacoa, The most beautiful Craft Brewery in Colombia. Approx value $15,000). We continue our journey to visit the Tatacoa Desert. This is the second largest arid zone in Colombia after the Guajira Peninsula, it is one of the most attractive natural settings in Colombia covering 330 square kilometers of land in ochre and gray colors with touches of green from the cacti. In the desert, we will visit the Valley of the Cords and Cusco, this sector is quite attractive for its intense red color, this is a series of sand mounds with shades of orange and red that show the strong temperatures and the passage of time, the Valley of the ghosts, also known as the Valley of the Holes. Approx 7:00 pm Entry to the astronomical observatory, arrival at the hotel at about 9:00 PM.
